What are we going to sing?

Oh, the suspense...
Many of the songs chosen for the Harmony Brigades are as-sung versions of arrangements used by champion quartets.  The selection, preparation and editing takes a team of people a great deal of time, often including re-doing the notation in a clean, standard format, editing, and preparation and checking of learning tracks, and putting it all together in a music pack. The policy for the brigades is that songs for each Rally are not made known in advance -- the element of surprise when you receive your music is meant to increase the suspense and joy.  This practice also allows brigades that are scheduled later in the year to maintain the suspense of the music release.

The music pack for each Rally is provided to registered, paid-up singers once all copyright approvals are in.

The music pack includes a spiral-bound booklet of the arrangements for the brigade rally    ....    as well as a CD of the learning tracks.  [For those under the age of 30, CD stands for Compact Disc, which is a thin circle of polycarbonate that can be played on a 1980s-style CD player. You may have seen one at your grandparents'.] [We also have downloads available so you don't have go through the annoying process of ripping the CD to get the tracks to where you can use them]

Note that the Brigade has obtained all of the music legally and has paid for copyright licenses.  However, this only covers use of the music at the Brigade! If you wish to make use of the music afterwards in your quartet or chorus, you need to obtain your own copyright approvals and licenses, and buy your own tracks for your group.  Copying and distributing brigade music is illegal and very unfair to the composers, arrangers and producers of learning tracks.
